An Armenian was killed in Moscow on Tuesday. Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that the victim was A. Alaverdyan, 33, from Vanadzor, Armenia, and he was living and working in the Russian capital city for many years.
We have learned that the young Armenian man had died during a robbery at around 11pm, and from a gunshot wound.
According to preliminary information, four men attacked a parked vehicle, broke its windows, stole a purse full of money from a woman in the automobile, and fled. Subsequently, one of the three men in the car—the driver—chased them, and the thieves threw the purse down and left the scene. The driver returned to the car, but discovered that his two friends were no longer there. A few minutes later, however, he found one of them not too far from the vehicle, but shot dead. Moreover, the other friend had disappeared.
The police speculate that it was the man that had disappeared who had informed the perpetrators of the attack about the money in the car, informed an Interfax news agency source.
A criminal case is launched on charges of murder and illegal possession of a gun.
The perpetrators have not yet been caught.
