YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Saturday extended his congratulations to famous Armenian painter and sculptor Davit Babayan, on the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary.

“You have made a great contribution to the development and enrichment of modern Armenian sculpture,” the President’s congratulatory message specifically reads. “Your creations, especially the monument to Komitas installed in Paris, not only have an artistic, but a sociopolitical value and resonance.”

To note, Master Komitas (Soghomon Soghomonian) was a renowned Armenian priest, composer, choir leader, singer, music ethnologist, music pedagogue, and musicologist.
