The Tekirdağ Waterworks Authority (TESKI) discovered that Armenian tombstones have were used to cap sewers in Turkey's Malkara city, Today's Zaman reports, citing the Turkish-Armenian weekly newspaper Agos.

TESKI employees discovered seven tombstones during their repair work in one of the city's streets. They informed the municipality about the findings.

Malkara Mayor Ulaş Yurdakul acknowledged the findings, and the tombstones were given to the Tekirdağ Archeology Museum for inspection and preservation.
