The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Sergo Karapetyan, on Friday paid a working visit to several communities in Ararat Province.
He visited these villages to get familiarized with the losses of the villages that had suffered damages as a result of the hailstorm that hit the area on August 22.
Karapetyan spoke with the villagers, and noted that committees have been set up to calculate the damage caused by the hailstorm. He informed that once the results of the activities of these committees are summed up, they will be submitted to the government.
The minister added that the government will discuss the matter of deferring the loans of the farmers, and an individual approach will be provided.
Sixteen communities in Armavir and Ararat Provinces and three others in Shirak Province had suffered damages in the said hailstorm.
