Famous Italian conductor Gianluca Marciano will attend a premiere of Verdi’s “Requiem” to be staged in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 1.
Marciano will visit Karabakh at the invitation of First Lady of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The famous conductor does not fear of being included in Azerbaijan’s black list.
“The September 1 concert will speak about the world a language of culture, and I am happy to be a part of this evening. Political issues cannot stop me. The point is about opening the borders and living in peace,” he said.
Gianluca Marciano is one of four conductors who participated in concert dedicated to the Centennial of Armenian Genocide that took place on April 24, 2015.
In November Marciano will perform in Yerevan within the framework of Aram Khachaturian International Festival.
“My dream is to perform the Second Symphony by Aram Khachaturian. And I do plan to perform works of Armenian composers abroad,” he said.
