YEREVAN. – Armenia's Ambassador to India Armen Martirosyan on Friday presented his credentials to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee. The ceremony of presenting credentials was followed by talks with the President of India.

President Mukherjee expressed satisfaction with the current friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Armenia and India. The President pointed to significant potential for the development of relations between the two countries and assured that the expansion of cooperation in political, economic and cultural areas is beneficial to both countries. He also stressed the historical part and the role of Armenians in various spheres of life in India.

The Ambassador, in turn, noted that the Armenian government wants to strengthen relations with India in all areas. Mr. Martirosyan stressed the need to intensify contacts on expanding and deepening of tourism opportunities, as well as scientific and academic ties.

President of India asked the Ambassador to convey warm greetings to his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan. Wishing success to the Ambassador Martirosyan in his work, Pranab Mukherjee expressed hope that during his mission the bilateral relations will further expand in all areas.
