YEREVAN. – The drop in the indicators describing the economy of the Republic of Armenia (RA) continues, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported. 

“According to official data released yesterday [i.e. Monday], the economic activity index (EAI) [of the country] fell around 3 percent in November this year, as compared to November last year.

“The decline in the indicator of retail trade volumes amounted to 14.2 percent in November, which is unprecedented during the year. This shows that the purchasing power of the RA population decreases from month to month.

“[In addition,] the export volumes record a sharp decline in the past 2 months.

“The production of electricity has also substantially reduced—by close to 6 percent—in November.

“In other words, even official statistics no longer hide the deepening of the crisis of our economy,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
