YEREVAN. – Against the backdrop of what is transpiring in the currency markets in many other CIS countries, the respective situation in Armenia can be considered more or less stable.

The diagram below presents the daily dynamics of the US dollar (USD) exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD), from January 1 to December 28 of the current year.

Accordingly, the largest fluctuations were in the second quarter.

The dollar reached its maximum value (AMD 485.61/$1) on September 10, whereas its minimum (AMD 469.79/$1) was on October 23.

The American national currency started the year at AMD 475.7/$1, in January, and it is finishing at AMD 483/$1, in December.  

And so, the value of the US dollar has increased by approximately 1.5 percent in Armenia, during the calendar year.
