YEREVAN. – Brexit will not reflect on relations with Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia, said at a press conference on Monday.
In his words, Brexit will not affect Armenia-EU bilateral relations and projects.
As for relations with Armenia and increasing funding for projects, Świtalski said this will depend on the effectiveness of the work and on specific indicators.
In terms of funding, the EU official urged not to rush and to wait for the results of ongoing work.
The ambassador, however, stated that assistance programs are not the only way for the country’s development. In his conviction, the EU assistance has ensured tangible results for the benefit of ordinary citizens of Armenia.
In his words, the EU provides about €50 million to the Armenian side every year. Ambassador Świtalski added that this amount can help resolve some problems, and that the Armenian citizens appreciate the assistance and they would be happy if it were to continue. But he added that it is all of our duty to decide on how to do it.
