U.S. President Barack Obama intends to call on colleagues at the NATO summit for closer cooperation with the European Union in the military sphere, The New York Times reported quoting the source in the presidential administration.

According to an official, such partnership has been a target of the U.S. for a long time long, but Brexit  makes it more urgent. In particular, NATO and the EU could cooperate in countering cyber attacks, coordination of military exercises and patrolling the central Mediterranean.
