YEREVAN. – Armenian merchants were conducting trade in China still in the 12th century.

Mr. Sen, representatives of the Chinese company Global Group International Holdings Limited of Suite, stated the above-said at Wednesday’s official opening of a new center for Chinese studies at Yerevan State University of Languages after Bryusov, in the capital city of Armenia.

In his words, Armenian merchants were living in China since the 12th century, and they have left a noticeable trace in the history of the country. 

“Chinese goods correspond to Armenia’s market, and they are in great demand here,” noted Sen. “China, in turn, is also interested in Armenian products, including brandy.

“We stand ready to develop practical cooperation, and the opening of the new center attests to this yet again.”
