YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Greek Ambassador Ioannis Taghis, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia. 

The presidential press office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that President Sargsyan thanked Ambassador Taghis for his personal contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-Greek relations. He noted that the Armenian authorities and people laud the progress in bilateral relations, and the respective efforts by Ioannis Taghis.

The President expressed the hope that the next Greek ambassador to Armenia will continue to develop, with the same devotion and enthusiasm, the relations between the two friendship countries and peoples. Sargsyan added that he has sent Armenia’s new ambassador to Greece to Athens with the same expectations and instructions.

Ambassador Ioannis Taghis, for his part, thanked the President of Armenia for the assistance provided to him during his tenure in Armenia.

The diplomat noted that he was always treated very warmly over the past four years in Armenia, and assured that he will remain a friend of Armenia and Armenian people, even after leaving the country.
