German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan tried to discuss tension in relations after Bundestag adopted the resolution recognizing Armenian Genocide.

The meeting was held on the margins of NATO summit in Warsaw and lasted 45 minutes.

Erdogan expressed his dissatisfaction with the resolution, Reuters reported quoting a source. Meanwhile, Merkel said she did everything so that the resolution could not damage bilateral ties.

The German side has not commented on the meeting yet.
