YEREVAN. – Armenia’s new Ambassador to Lithuania, Tigran Mkrtchyan, on Monday presented his credentials to President Dalia Grybauskaitė.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Grybauskaitė congratulated the ambassador on assuming office, and wished him success. She also expressed the hope that Ambassador Mkrtchyan will contribute to making Armenian-Lithuanian grow deeper.

Furthermore, President Grybauskaitė stressed that Lithuanian capital is interested in increasing its presence in the Armenian market.

Tigran Mkrtchyan, for his part, noted that Armenia is greatly interested in closer cooperation, and the strengthening and expansion of relations with Lithuania. 

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors also discussed the prospects for a successful course in Armenia-European Union negotiations.

In addition, the Armenian ambassador briefed the Lithuanian president on the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this connection, President Dalia Grybauskaitė stressed that Lithuania supports solely a pacific resolution to this conflict.
