Turkey and Germany will continue talks regarding the visit of Bundestag members to Incirlik military base where 400 German troops are deployed, Turkish Deputy PM Numan Kurtulmus said.

He believes that this is connected mostly with technical, not political differences. At the same time the official  noted the difference in legal framework between the parties.

“For us Incirlik is a military base. The German side considers the issue of deployment its troops in Incirlik or elsewhere in the context of responsibility of its parliament. Thus, it is a political issue for Germany,” Turkish official said.

Turkey banned German delegation’s visit to Incirlik in connection with the resolution acknowledging the Armenian Genocide which was adopted by Bundestag.
