YEREVAN. – Ethiopia’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Grum Abay Teshome—whose diplomatic residence is in Moscow, on Tuesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The President congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, and expressed the hope that the diplomat will make utmost use of his professional knowhow and vigor in order to deepen and strengthen Armenia-Ethiopia ties.
Sargsyan stressed that the Ethiopian Armenian community, which was formed back in the 7th century, has considerably contributed to life in Ethiopia, and that longstanding friendship of the two peoples is a solid foundation for the development of state relations.
Ambassador Teshome, for his part, noted that Ethiopia is very proud with the contribution Armenians have had in the country for ages. He also stressed that, aside from developing bilateral relations, the two countries also successfully collaborate within international organizations.
At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors underscored the avenues for further increasing Armenia-Ethiopia collaboration.
The President wished the ambassador of Ethiopia success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
