Germany intends to withdraw its troops from Turkey’s Incirlik airbase if Ankara does not allow the German delegation to the base, Vice-Chancellor of Germany Sigmar Gabriel stated.

Sigmar Gabriel said that the army of Germany is accountable to the Parliament. And if the Parliament cannot meet the soldiers then it means that soldiers shouldn't remain in the place that has no access for the German lawmakers, Zeitung reported.

Around 250 German soldiers are in the Incirlik airbase, six Tornado reconnaissance aircraft participating in operation of the coalition in Syria and Iraq are also based there.

At the end of June Turkey refused the German delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Defence to visit Incirlik airbase which is used by the coalition forces led by the U.S. for the fight against the ISIS extremist group in Syria.

German magazine Spiegel noted that  visit of the German delegation has been blocked due to the fact that on 2 June the Bundestag backed a resolution recognizing the 1915 events in the Ottoman Empire as a genocide of the Armenians by the Ottoman Turkey, BBC Russian Service reported.
