The prime minister of South Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn was attacked during visit to Seongju county, about 135 miles southeast of Seoul.
Local residents pelted him with eggs and water bottles and other objects, The New York Times reported.
The locals welcomed high-ranking official in this way after it became known about the decision of the authorities to place in THAAD antimissile system Seongju.
