Events commemorating the 215th anniversary of the death of one of the significant figures of Polish history, former Polish Education Minister, poet, priest and knight of Poland’s Order of the White Eagle, Armenian Grzegorz Piramowicz (Pirumyan) took place in Kurów town of Poland on Monday.

In fact, Grzegorz Piramowicz has also co-authored the text of Poland’s first Constitution.  

Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan, Kurów Wójt (community leader) Stanisław Wójcicki, other representatives of the self-government and intellectuals, who had arrived in Kurów to attend the events, took part in the liturgy served in Piramowicz’ memory.  

In his speech addressed to those present, the Armenian Ambassador noted that he is proud of learning of the prominent and exclusive role played by significant Armenian figures in Poland’s history, among which is also the state, public and religious figure Grzegorz Piramowicz.

Thereafter, Ambassador Ghazaryan and Kurów Wójt Stanisław Wójcicki paid tribute to Grzegorz Piramowicz, laying flowers at the memory plate installed in his mother’s churchyard.

The Armenian Ambassador along with Kurów Wójt also visited the city museum, where most of the exhibits displayed mainly relate to Grzegorz Piramowicz’ life and activity.
