YEREVAN. – Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, had a working meeting with Advocacy Director at the Human Rights Watch office in Geneva, Switzerland, John Fisher.

Considering Human Rights Watch’s special attention to the cases of use of force and special weapons against civilians during wars, Tatoyan drew Fisher’s attention to Azerbaijan’s violations against the civilian population of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), during the four-day war it had unleashed in early April, as well as on the respective anti-Armenian propaganda in Azerbaijani press and at state level, Office of the Human Rights Defender informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In addition, the NKR Ombudsman’s role in carrying out fact-finding activities plus the importance of his reports were underscored.

The results of this work, together with the evidence of relevant facts, were presented to the Human Rights Watch official.
