YEREVAN. – High interconnect rates don’t allow having cheaper calls between networks in Armenia, Mr Mikhail Gerchuk, company’s CEO for the Eurasian region, told the media Friday in Yerevan.
Those rates need to be gradually brought down to make calls more accessible, he added.
Interconnect fee in Armenia is 11 Armenian dram per minute (around 2.3 cents), and is charged by the operator receiving the call.
VimpelCom is present in Armenia through its subsidiary, ArmenTel (under Beeline brand).
