The EU and Turkey are connected by common interests in the context of observance of the agreement on migrants,  Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Sawsan Chebli stated.

“If one looks at the facts, then it is the case that both sides are sticking to the agreement and we hope that remains the case as it is in the interests of both sides," she said.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to open his country’s borders for migrants to Europe if the EU continued to work in the same way, meaning the resolution of European Parliament, recommending to freeze talks with Turkey on EU accession, Reuters reported.
