London is not afraid of political isolation, since it believes that the new US administration's policy will be directed to confront challenges coming from Russia, said the UK Minister Michael Fallon, reports BBC.

In response to the observation, that Britain may become the only competitor of Moscow, after Trump’s victory in the presidential elections, Fallon said, that Trump admired Putin during his election campaign, but it is possible for him to change his political course, after the elections.

" I don’t agree with that and I think you have to distinguish between the campaign rhetoric of president-elect Trump and what he does in practice," said Fallon. " We do not say that there should not be any dialogue with Russia, but Russia could not be treated as an equal partner.  Russia has obviously violated the international law by what it has done in Ukraine and Crimea and we will never forget this fact,” he said.
