December 26 is Boxing Day in several countries.

Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated on the day following Christmas Day, in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations.

All agree that this holiday started from the tradition of giving money and gifts to people from the lower social classes.

On Christmas Day, people exchanged gifts with those of their class, whereas the poor gifts were the last to receive presents. 

These gifts were given in boxes. Hence, Boxing Day.
