Brazil's Espirito Santo police trade union confirmed, that 75 people were killed during the riots, that proceeded from the strike of February 4,  reports Xinhua.

According to the Brazilian Constitution, the police have no right to strike or take part in demonstrations. The recent strike was held by the families of the police officers, who prevented the patrolling cars from exiting the gates of the police station, thereby expressing their complaints about the salaries and working conditions of the police, which had not improved for many years.

After the strike, there took place riots in the cities of Vitoria, Guarapari, and Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, as a result of which many people were killed and injured. More than 100 shops in Vitoria were robed, the city public transport was halted, classes at schools suspended. On February 6 and 7 the Brazilian government sent national security forces to Vitoria not to allow the situation in the city to further exacerbate.

The state administration does not intend to comply with police demands.
