YEREVAN. – Armenian-French economic relations need improvement, said French Ambassador to Armenia Jean-François Charpentier, at a press conference on Thursday.

In his words, annual trade between Armenia and France is about €50 million.

The ambassador noted, however, that the situation is a bit better in terms of investments, and that quite large French companies show interest towards the Armenian market.

Also, Charpentier pointed to the prospects that open up in case of France’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union market.

The ambassador recalled that several French companies are already doing business in Armenia.

“The response by the French companies already existing in the Armenian market is important in order for French businesses’ presence be more noticeable [in Armenia],” added Jean-François Charpentier.
