The Armenian delegation to the Armenia-EU inter-parliamentary commission is discussing suing the Austrian Airlines, Naira Zohrabyan, head of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration, told NEWS.am.

After participation in 11th commission meeting in Brussels, the delegation had to spend 24 hours at the European airports. The delegation had to arrive in Yerevan by Brussels-Vienna-Yerevan flight operated by the Austrian Airlines. On December 3, the Armenian delegation spent 5 hours at the airport as the Vienna air craft did not land.

“We had to spend a long time at the airports of Brussels and Vienna due to bad weather conditions in Europe. Later, we were informed that there is no flight from Vienna to Yerevan and we were sent to Paris. We spent several hours at the Paris airport as well. The point is if the flight is delayed for more than 4 hours, the air company is obliged to provide a hotel. However, the Austrian airline refused to do so, saying there is force majeure and they can do nothing,” Zohrabyan said. The problem was discussed and most likely the delegation will demand explanations from the company’s Armenian office.
