Azerbaijan is a source and transit country for human trafficking, Danuta Wisniewska-Cazals head of CoE Directorate General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs, said at a seminar in Baku, Trend reported.

According to her, female human trafficking victims are sent to Turkey and Arab countries for sexual exploitation, whereas men are sent to Russia for labor exploitation.

Cases of sexual exploitation of women are registered in the country. Some of them are forced to beg money in Azerbaijan.   

The Azerbaijani Department for Combat with Human Trafficking recorded 70 incidents of human trafficking in 2010. Thirty-four people were charged.
