Armenia is to start exporting Oriental persimmon, Cornelian cherries and nuts through its free economic zone, Vardan Sahakyan, Project Manager, told NEWS.am. 

The exports of grapes and apricots will be increased.

Sahakyan said Europe has not yet tasted Armenian nuts, but the country has a great potential for nuts export.

Europe is also interested in Cornelian cherries grown in Armenia. If the program is successfully implemented Armenia’s agricultural turnover will reach U.S. $300 million, and farmers’ incomes will increase by 150-160 per cent.
