U.S. President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of the United States returning to the Paris climate agreement, RIA Novosti reports.

The U.S. withdrew from the agreement in the summer of 2017.

In an interview with British TV journalist Pierce Morgan, Trump noted that the Paris agreement would be a disaster for them. Nonetheless, if there is a good agreement, there is always a chance that they will return.

As the president stated, currently the agreement is “terrible” and “unfair” for the U.S..

The first global agreement on climate - the Paris Agreement - was signed in December 2015. It defines a global plan of actions to contain global warming. The treaty was ratified by 170 countries, pledging to take measures to reduce emissions, technologically upgrade and adapt to climate change.
