YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Ministry actively promoted deepening of the country's foreign economic relations, says the reports summing up ministry’s actions in 2017.

At a meeting of the General Assembly of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) in Tehran on May 16, it was decided to transfer the Federation's head office to Armenia. The secretary of the Federation was Nasdaq OMX Armenia director Konstantin Saroyan.

Last year Armenia joined the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).

In order to develop the economic component of foreign policy, on August 3 the Armenian government decided to approve economic target standards, as well as the criteria for assessing the effectiveness of economic activity of Armenian diplomatic missions in foreign countries.

In order to improve the efficiency of trade and economic relations between Armenia and China, Russia, the United States, the UAE, India, the Czech Republic and Italy, the Armenian President hosted meetings with the participation of the Armenian ambassadors in the above-mentioned countries. On November 30, the Trade Representation of Armenia opened in Qingdao, China.

The Foreign Ministry of Armenia also supported the initiatives and activities of the Armenian Development Foundation, carried out activities to stimulate tourism, contributed to raising awareness on 49 investment opportunities of Armenia.
