At least 27 people have been killed as the result of a major military operation in Egypt near the border with Libya, AP reported. 

The Egyptian security force declared the destruction of 342 shelters and weapons depots, the neutralization of 344 explosive devices. A total of 400 suspects and almost 3,000 illegal migrants were detained.

Over 60 vehicles equipped with explosives and ammunition were destroyed as a result of air strikes in the Western Desert area. A soldier was killed as a result of clashes.
