Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced his plans to visit Moscow or Sochi for talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on a Syrian settlement after the Turkish-Russian talks in Moscow on December 29, Interfax reported.
The Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, the head of intelligence of Turkey, the special representative of the president and the Turkish ambassador to Russia will reportedly be part of the Turkish delegation heading for Russia.
According to Erdogan, the meeting participants will comprehensively discuss the Syrian issue.
Earlier on Friday, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the talks of defense and foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey on Saturday are aimed at synchronizing actions on the situation in Syria.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan may hold a meeting in the first six months of 2019, Peskov added.
