The world’s longest cable car “Wings of Tatev” will operate for seven days due to favorable weather conditions in Syunik region, director of the ropeway Tigran Ghazaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. The aerial tramway was operating only on weekend during winter months.

Ghazaryan stressed the ropeway underwent technical examination and is presently in an excellent state. Security and all the systems are checked every day, he added.

The director also noted the ropeway hosted 10,000 passengers, 30% of them foreigners, since it has been opened last October. Ghazaryan said they are hopeful a great number of tourists will visit Tatev this year.

The world’s longest 5.7-kilometer ropeway, Wings of Tatev, opened in Armenia on October 16. The 5,700 meters long ropeway got a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records on October 23, 2010.
