The number of people leaving Libya exceeded 140,000, half of them fled to the neighboring Tunisia, Russian Lenta.ru reported referring to Al Jazeera.

The representatives of humanitarian organizations claim Tunisian border guards are firing in the air trying to control crowd of refugees.

According to Tunisian authorities, around 75,000 people, including foreigners working in Libya, entered the country over recent nine days.

Today the U.N. General Assembly suspended Libya’s membership in the U.N. Human Rights Council because of violence by pro-Gaddafi forces against protesters.

Four Armenian citizens were evacuated from Libya last Wednesday. They left for Moscow by a Russian plane.
