The air forces loyal to Libya’s strongman Muammar Gaddafi attacked on Friday military base seized by the rebels near the city of Adjabiya, east Libya.

The eyewitnesses claim Libyan aviation was bombing the nearby territory, not the base itself, RIA Novosti reports referring to Al Jazeera.

The Voice of America reports anti-government protests are expected in Libya’s capital, Tripoli after Friday prayer.

The demonstrators have been protesting against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s regime since February. The death toll is reported to reach several thousands.

Four Armenian citizens were evacuated from Libya last Wednesday. They left for Moscow by a Russian plane.
