It is too early to speak of consolidation of Armenian opposition. If the opposition forces unite it will happen ahead of parliamentary election, said political expert.

Consolidation of the opposition is a complicated process as there are many different groups and controversy among the opposition itself, Alexander Iskandaryan told the journalists today.

Recent developments in Armenia’s domestic policy can be characterized as an attempt of some extension of the political field, said the Director of the Caucasus Institute. On the background of social discontent the opposition forces are trying to use unsuccessful moves of the authorities to gain influence, he said.

Next parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for 2012 spring.
