“Center of Bird Lovers” and “Ecodar” NGOs have filed a lawsuit against  the Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection demanding that court should order the ministry to conduct an inquiry into construction project of the Yerevan dolphinarium.

NGOs appealed to the ministry for several times but have not got a response so far. A number of Armenian NGOs also planned to file a claim against the dolphinarium saying the animals are abused there.

The Nemo dolphinarium was opened last December in the territory of one of the Yerevan parks. Environmentalists objected to the idea, saying the dolphins would not survive in Armenia.
