The fact that, after boycotting the Parliament’s sitting, members of the Heritage faction attended the rally held by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) suggests that the Heritage party’s further actions depend on the ANC, Lernik Alexanyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) told journalists.
“Heritage is trying to enter into relations with the ANC,” he said. Alexanyan did not make any forecast about the Heritage party’s further steps.
As to the recent clash between street traders, MPs and policemen, he said it was a “nasty and deplorable instance” which involved violation against Parliament members.
He condemned police violence and pointed out that those guilty must be legally punished. Although policemen did not act properly, “the Parliament members provoked the incident as well.”
“If the right approach had been shown the incident would not have happened,” Alexanyan said. He pointed out that an official investigation will answer all the questions.
Armenian News-NEWS.am reminds readers that, at the Parliament’s latest sitting, the Heritage faction members walked out. The faction will decide on its further steps at its meeting March 6.
