YEREVAN. – The people who are protesting against the court decision on remanding Spayka company director Davit Ghazaryan in custody have marched from the capital city Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction to the Government of Armenia building, to continue their demonstration.

They demand to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

As reported earlier, the aforesaid court on Monday morning ruled that Ghazaryan be remanded in custody for two months.

And in protest to this decision, a group of Spayka employees closed off Tigran Mets Avenue in downtown Yerevan, across the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.

On April 4, charges were filed against Spayka director Davit Ghazaryan, and within the framework of the criminal case into non-payment of large amount of taxes.

As per the respective State Revenue Committee statement, Spayka company has not paid 7,036,666,312 drams (approx. US$14,468,090) in customs duties and taxes to the state budget.
