A while ago, the Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia, under the chairmanship of Judge Lusine Abgaryan, ended examination of the appeal filed by the attorneys of General Manvel Grigoryan (charged with appropriation of particularly large amounts) against the decision to extend Grigoryan’s term of custody. The court left to the consultation room to render a decision on the preventive measure for Manvel Grigoryan. The decision will be announced on 10 April.

On 15 March, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan rendered a decision on extending the term of custody of former Deputy of the National Assembly, former President of the Union of Volunteer Land Defenders NGO Manvel Grigoryan for another two months.

Manvel Grigoryan is charged with illegally keeping weapons and ammunition, appropriating property, avoiding to pay taxes, wasting state funds and organizing seizure of property through extortion.

The preliminary investigation of the separated part of the criminal case in regard to Manvel Grigoryan and Nazik Amiryan has ended, and Arman Grigoryan, Manvel Grigoryan’s son, is wanted.

On 25 March, Manvel Grigoryan was transferred from Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary Institution to Nairi Medical Center.
