No special progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process was made at the Armenian-Azerbaijani-Russian presidential meeting in Sochi, the political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan told journalists.

He stressed that the ongoing negotiation process itself is progress. “However, it would be naïve to think that the Minsk process will resolve the conflict instead of the conflicting parties. The parties’ positions are so distant from each other that any agreement and solution to the problem cannot be expected now. It is only possible after the sides change their positions. But we can hardly hope Azerbaijan will ever agree to the Armenian side’s concessions,” Iskandaryan said.
