A total of 57.4 million AMD (about U.S. $158,000) were allocated from the Armenian state budget for trafficking control. However, only 38.2 million AMD (about U.S. $105,000) were actually spent, says a report submitted to the RA Government by the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration.

The RA Ministry of Health and the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs did not receive any funds.

This year, the trafficking control budget has been considerably increased though it will hardly be used 100%. A total of 97 million AMD (about U.S. $267,000) have been budgeted this year. About a third of the funds are intended for socio-psychological aid to trafficking victims. A total of 6 million AMD (about U.S. $16,500) were allocated for this purpose last year.

Last year, the Armenian police instituted criminal proceedings on 11 cases of prostitution.

One more case involved prostituting a girl under age. The case was sent to court.
