European Parliament member have expressed his support for Ergenekon and similar investigations to overthrow the deep state structures in Turkey, Today’s Zaman reports.

Speaking at the debate on European Parliament’s progress report on Turkey, Graham Watson said Turks ousted “single party dictatorship in 1950” while drawing a parallelism between Arabs of today and Turks in 1950.

“The revolt of Muslim Arabic countries today is similar to the Turkish people’s ousting single party dictatorship in 1950.That is why Ergenekon and similar other investigations are so important,” he said.
