Ukraine’s president Petro Poroshenko said the results of exit polls give him a reason to call Vladimir Zelensky and congratulate him, 112.ua reported.
Speaking at his campaign headquarters, Poroshenko said he will leave the post, but will not leave politics, 112 Ukraine reported.
In his address after the elections Zelensky thanked everyone for doing it together.
“We've done it together! I just want to thank my parents for support and for what they have been through. Thanks to my wife for her power and patience. If she heard what they talked about me, she would not have married me. Thanks to the father of my wife, my children, my family,” he said.
According to the recent exit polls, Zelensky polled 73.7 percent, while Poroshenko got 26.3 percent.
