The unsuccessful rallies held by some Armenian political forces create favorable conditions for rigging the forthcoming elections, Vahan Hovhannisyan, a Bureau member, Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), told journalists.
People placing their hopes on the Opposition will be disappointed with its unsuccessful rallies. And people in despair are unable to resist election rigging. "People in despair are indifferent to anything. They do not place their hopes on any political force or they prefer taking bribes. All this creates favorable conditions for election rigging. So the Opposition`s rallies against the ruling regime may have an adverse effect," Hovhannisyan said.
Moreover, the widening gap between the authorities and population, authorities lacking legitimacy and not being in full control of the situation is damaging the Armenian authorities` international reputation. "Great powers cease taking us into account," Hovhannisyan said.
