Armavia’s owner Mikhail Baghdasarov told the journalists on Wednesday the air company is not for sale.
He refuted the rumors adding journalists are better to check information from the company’s leadership. Speaking of a recent incident between the company and Zvartnots airport which suspended services for Armavia flights due to debts, Baghdasarov said debt is not that large. All debts are paid at the beginning of next month in all international airports, he stressed.
Armavia suspended several flights from Zvartnots airport earlier today in protest against high prices for services provided by the Yerevan airport. Mikhail Baghdasarov stressed all over the globe national carriers have better conditions, getting up to 50% discount. However, in Armenia the national carrier has no preferences although 500 flights are conducted a month. “High prices for airport services do not allow Armavia to reduce ticket prices,” he stressed.
Armavia’s owner also stressed information about arrest of one of company’s aircrafts in Paris is nothing but rumor.
