The Hayots Ashkharh daily held a conversation with the MP from Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Artak Davtyan.

Commenting on the statement that Leader of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) cooled the enthusiasm of “liberating” Liberty Square, wishing the protestors good night and sending them home, some voiced standpoints that there was a deal between the government and radical opposition, Davtyan said: “These statements have nothing in common with reality. What happened is identical to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement in Tsaghkadzor that the political process within the recent two years has been on the right path and recent meetings are held in accordance with the law and correctness,” he noted.

“Nobody, particularly the head of state does not need to rewrite the contemporary history. The Liberty Square gave birth to the republic and it was to become the venue for rallies. The question was just time, as a law does not put restrictions on the venue of the meetings and rallies,” he said.
