On March 21, French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said Yemeni president must resign, as unrest there escalated in the country.

“We say this to Yemen, where the situation is worsening. We estimate today that the departure of President Saleh is unavoidable,” Juppe told a conference in Brussels.

A wave of mass demonstration has swept away in Yemen since February against President Saleh, who has been in power for 32 years.
