On March 22, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Luka Bebic.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed content with the high-level contacts within the recent three years, stressing they contribute to development of Armenia-Croatia relations.  “Inter-parliamentary ties between our states are of great significance to develop friendly relations between Armenian and Croatian people. It is important parliamentary friendship groups were established in the two states’ parliaments,” he said.

The sides attached importance to Croatian President Ivo Josipovic’s impending visit to Armenia in 2011, which will give new impetus to bilateral relations, the presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. The officials stressed the visit of businessmen accompanying the Croatian President is a good opportunity to develop economic cooperation and increase trade turnover.  The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, energy and other spheres.

Serzh Sargsyan and Luka Bebic also discussed Armenia-EU cooperation, regional issues, Armenia-Turkey normalization and Karabakh peace process.
